The Town of Port Royal is located directly on the Beaufort River and provides access to hundreds of miles of beautiful South Carolina coastline and biologically rich coastal waters. Port Royal Sound lies adjacent to South Carolina’s ACE Basin, one of the largest undeveloped estuaries on the East Coast. The ACE Basin is part of South Carolina’s National Estuarine Research Reserves and encompasses over 134,000 acres in parts of Beaufort, Colleton, Charleston, and Hampton counties.
